OMG has anyone been to Union Market in DC? I’m probably late, but I went this weekend and had a great time! The weather was beautiful, and it was just a perfect day to be
day drinking and eating out and about.
So basically Union Market is a cool ass place where a lot of cool ass food and retail vendors hang out. Simply put, this ain’t your Grandma’s flea market, guys. Trust me, times have changed! This is more so like, “upscale, DC bougie-type flea market” – yea, that sounds about right. Nonetheless, it’s a very artsy and vibey place to hang out if you’re looking for something different.
The most memorable food I had there was this bomb acai bowl from South Block. I think it was called the California Bowl? I can’t even really remember because I ate it so damn fast. But if my memory serves me correctly, I think it had bananas, maybe spinach, blueberries, acai of course, and some granola. It was tasty, filling and not to mention, pretty healthy. I can get down with this on a normal basis!

I also had a dosa, which is South Indian cuisine, and it’s essentially like a pancake (very similar to a crepe) filled with lots of tasty vegetables such as eggplant, sweet potatoes and curry potatoes. I suggest you try it next time you go – it’s really good!
All in all, I think I’ll spend more weekends here! Maybe I’ll catch you there?
