Chinese Green Beans? Yes, Please.

Sooooo, as y’all probably know by now, I have a hate love vs. hate relationship with diets and healthy eating habits.  I feel so damn good about myself when I’m eating clean, but you know what else is damn good?  F*cking pizza.  And french fries.  And cupcakes.  I’ve been on a super health kick for the last couple of weeks, but then this happened. *insert dramatic music here*

Annnnnd there went my diet.

That, my friends, is the look of shame.

Anyway, I quickly forgave myself and got back on track with this kick-ass Chinese Green Beans recipe I got from BuzzFeed.  I must have watched the video about 20 times before I finally committed to making the dish – and I’m glad I did!  It only took me about 20 minutes to make – quick and easy!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • vegetable oil
  • string beans
  • garlic
  • ginger
  • scallions
  • mushrooms
  • meat or meat-substitute (I used Morningstar Veggie Crumbles)
  • red chilies (I actually used sun-dried tomatoes instead)
  • chilli paste
  • soy sauce
  • rice wine
  • white pepper

*Disclaimer – you might want to take it easy on the chilli paste.  I did not – and later – I was regretful. ?????

I ate the dish as is, but it can also be paired with white rice!!!

Below is a link to the full recipe if you want to try it!

Happy cooking, loves!
